In-N-Out Burger will open its second Greater Houston-area location in Katy, a representative from the restaurant chain confirmed on Wednesday. The store will be located on the northeast corner of Katy Fort Bend Road and the I-10 frontage road, Carl Arena, the vice president of real estate and development for In-N-Out Burger, said in an emailed statement. A timeline was not provided, but once construction begins, the location will likely open in four to five months. Marketing materials from Houston-based real estate firm BRI Realty Services Inc. show that In-N-Out Burger will be located in a new shopping center called Y Shops at Park West at 806 Katy Fort Bend Road. The materials state that the store will open in 2019. Mark Lapeyrouse, the broker for Y Shops, declined to comment specifically about In-N-Out and whether the company signed a lease when Community Impact Newspaper reached out on Oct. 16. However, he said that construction has begun on two other 15,000-square-foot buildings as well as a bridge on the roughly 1-acre site that is adjacent to The Retail Connection’s The Shoppes at ParkWest, another retail development. Lapeyrouse said he has not signed any other leases, adding that he is looking for “national, regional credit-rated tenants and lifestyle tenants” to complement nearby offerings such as DSW, Field & Stream and Golf Galaxy. The two 15,000-square-foot buildings should be ready to deliver to tenants by mid-2019, Lapeyrouse said. The Dhanani Property Equity Group is the developer for the Y Shops, he said. In-N-Out Burger’s first Houston-area store will be located at The Grid retail center in Stafford. An exact opening date was not provided during the September groundbreaking ceremony for the development that is located on the former Texas Instruments campus, 12201 Hwy. 59. However, In-N-Out officials said at the time that it takes about five to six months to construct a new store. The burger chain also owns land at 8373 Westheimer Road, near Dunvale, but that site currently has a tenant and an In-N-Out Burger is not likely to debut on that parcel for a while. There are currently 37 locations of the chain in Texas, per the company’s website.
