Only Waller County is providing the number of recoveries at the ZIP code level, and all three of the Katy-area cases in Waller County have recovered. In total, Waller County is reporting 23 recoveries out of 36 confirmed cases.
Harris County outside the city of Houston is reporting 1,830 recoveries out of 3,105 cases, while Fort Bend County is reporting 207 recoveries out of 1,287 confirmed cases.
None of the counties are providing the total number of public and private tests administered by ZIP code. Fort Bend County’s testing sites have tested a total of 4,484 people.
Katy ISD
The district said in a May 6 update that it is reevaluating its graduation plans based on the Texas Education Agency guidance on in-person, virtual and hybrid ceremonies. More information will be provided soon.

Harris County
An inmate at the Harris County Jail has died from the coronavirus, according to a news release from the Harris County Sheriff's Office. The inmate, a man between the ages of 50-60, had previously tested positive for COVID-19 and had several preexisting conditions. His name and other identifying information are not being released in compliance with privacy rules, according to the release. Of the 1,115 inmates who have been tested for COVID-19 at the jail, 601 have tested positive. Fourteen of those inmates are hospitalized, according to the release.
