The first indoor padel club in Texas is set to open in October at 28408 Sweetgum Road, Bldg. E, Magnolia, in The Woodlands area, according to an Aug. 16 news release.

Padel is a sport combining elements of tennis and squash, according to the release from COPA Padel Club. According to the club's website, the sport originated in Mexica in the 1960s and is primarily played as a doubles sport with racquets smaller than a tennis racquet.

COPA Padel Club's location in The Woodlands area will include state-of-the-art padel courts and an alliance with M3 Padel Academy—a padel academy based in Spain—that allows plays of all levels access to world-class coaching and training programs.

“We are thrilled to bring the exhilarating sport of padel to The Woodlands area of Houston,” said Ruben Gonzalez, regional manager and partner at COPA® Padel Club, in the release. “COPA® Padel Club is not just a sports venue; it is a community hub where individuals and families can come together to enjoy a unique and accessible sporting experience.”

Membership registrations are open for COPA Padel Club's new location. www.copapadelclub.com
