During a Feb. 19 special meeting, Magnolia City Council appointed Markus Benoit as its interim city administrator for 90 days effective Feb. 24.

Previous City Administrator Don Doering retired effective Nov. 30, as reported.

The details

Benoit joins the city after holding previous roles including city of Waller public works director and Inframark operations manager, according to his resume.

After 90 days, the city has the option of appointing Benoit as administrator or granting an extension of an additional 90 days, according to the news release.

“From his time in Waller, Benoit has seen the needs of fast-growing communities and brings a wealth of experience given his years in public works,” Mayor Matthew Dantzer said via news release.
