During its Feb. 19 meeting, Tomball City Council approved, on first reading, an ordinance that amends the city’s code of ordinances to create a no-parking, -stopping or -standing zone along Rudel Road.

In a nutshell

The no-parking zone was recommended after city staff received concerns about vehicles parking on either side of the street and emergency vehicles being prevented from safely traversing Rudel Road, according to the Feb. 19 agenda packet.

There is a $200 fine for violating the ordinance, according to the agenda packet.

A second and final reading of the ordinance should take place at the next regular council meeting on March 4.
