Corridor Rescue, a dog shelter with the mission to aid Houston street dogs, is hosting its fourth annual Wags and Wagers casino night to help contribute to its mission. This event will have catered dinner, drinks, music, casino games and a raffle. Participants in the raffle are not required to be in attendance at the event. Event tickets must be purchased in advance.

To celebrate its first anniversary, Beautiful Bliss is hosting a jewelry-making workshop at which attendees can make a pair of earrings and a necklace. Jewelry will be fully customizable, and refreshments will be provided. Space is limited to 12 people, so interested attendees are encouraged to reserve their spots early.

Attend a cookoff

Patriots of Texas Fest is holding its third annual cookoff festival to benefit and support active-duty military, veterans and first responders. The festival will have a barbecue cookoff, live music and vendors. The music lineup includes Jon Wolfe, Jesse Raub Jr, Mae Estes, Jake Bush, Clay Hollis and Joel Shewmake.

Little Woodrow’s Tomball is hosting Dachtoberfest, an event that will feature wiener dog races, a stein-hoisting competition, prizes, Oktoberfest beers and live music.
