Two-minute impact
TISD’s 2025-26 calendar was unanimously approved by trustees and is similar to the district’s 2024-25 calendar—which was approved in February 2023—TISD staff said March 5. The calendar is required to have 187 teacher work days and at least 75,600 operational minutes.
According to TISD’s website, the 2025-26 calendar designates:
- Aug. 12, 2025, as the first day of school for students
- May 21, 2026, as the last day of school for students
- Student holidays, including Oct. 9-10 and 13, 2025
- Thanksgiving break from Nov. 24-28, 2025
- Winter break from Dec. 22, 2025-Jan. 2, 2026
- Spring break from March 9-13, 2026
In other news
Two TISD assistant principals have been promoted to lead TISD schools, according to news releases from the district. Charlie Gerszewski and Treva Madore will serve as principals for Tomball Junior High and Creekside Forest Elementary, respectively.
Gerszerski began with TISD in 2020 as an assistant principal at Creekside Park Junior High, according to a March 8 release. Madore has served as an assistant principal for Creekview Elementary during the last three years, according to a separate March 8 release.
