Tomball ISD has named Paulette Tomlinson its next fine arts director, who will begin serving after this school year following the retirement of current Fine Arts Director JD Janda, according to a May 1 news release.

“We are excited to welcome Paulette Tomlinson as the Tomball ISD director of fine arts,” TISD Chief Operating Officer Steven Gutierrez said via news release. “Her experience and leadership will continue to elevate our fine arts programs across the district.”

Tomlinson comes to Tomball from Flour Bluff ISD in Corpus Christi and has also served in Nacogdoches and San Augustine ISDs, according to the news release.

“Tomball reminds me a lot of home—I grew up in Marietta, GA, a town like Tomball in Northwest Metro Atlanta,” Tomlinson said via news release. “I love the small-town feel with access to big-city opportunities. It’s the perfect place to lay down roots.”

Tomlinson said her goal is to ensure student and teacher needs are met in the fine arts department.

“My mission is to empower teachers to do their very best work for our students and to be involved in decision-making that keeps fine arts student well-being and success at the forefront,” Tomlinson said. “I will also be a partner to campus administrators in ensuring the advancement of their fine arts programs. I am thrilled to be joining this team, and I cannot wait to get started this summer.”
