What we reported: Voters in Tomball ISD approved a $275 million bond referendum in November 2017 to accommodate projected enrollment growth from 2018-22. New facilities proposed in the bond include an elementary school, junior high school and districtwide football stadium all slated for property on Cypress Rosehill Road.

The latest: Tomball ISD anticipates breaking ground on the new elementary and junior high schools as well as the districtwide stadium in 2019, Chief Financial Officer Jim Ross said. The district is targeting an August 2020 opening for the three new facilities, Ross said. The two schools intend to relieve growing enrollments at Wildwood Elementary and Willow Wood Junior High schools, respectively.
