The new schedule allows fifth and sixth grade students attending the district's new intermediate schools—opening in August—to ride the bus with their age group, according to a statement from the district.
Magnolia and Bear Branch intermediate schools will house fifth and sixth grades, replacing the former sixth grade campuses. Construction of the schools was funded by a $92 million bond, approved by voters in 2015.
- Junior high and high school campuses—enrolling students in grades 7-12—will begin the school day at 7:15 a.m. Dismissal will be at 2:30 p.m.
- Intermediate school campuses—enrolling students in grades 5-6—will begin the school day at 7:55 a.m. and be dismissed at 3:10 p.m.
- Elementary school campuses—enrolling students in grades K-4—will begin the school day at 8:20 a.m. and be dismissed at 3:35 p.m.
