Now that fall has begun, families have started to trade their swimsuits and iced tea for sweaters and hot cider.
From mid-September to the weekend before Thanksgiving, Blessington Farms is ushering in the changing of the leaves with its “Fall on the Farm” celebration. The event runs every Saturday and Sunday in October and November as well as select weekdays.
“We try to really hold on to that fall feeling because we know a lot of people rush into Christmas right after October 31st,” General Manager Jen Kadas said.
What they offer
Kadas said “Fall on the Farm” features a variety of family-friendly activities such as a jump pad, hayrides, gemstone mining, a maze and fishing. The event also includes farm animals, fall photo opportunities and a pumpkin patch.
New attractions include:
A corn kernel pit
Barnyard buddies
Blaster cannons
“We really wanted to give families that opportunity to disconnect from technology and make those memories with their family,” Kadas said.
Tickets can be purchased online starting at $24.95 with children under 2 getting in for free. The farm also offers a “Fall Family 4 Pack” with tickets starting at $20.73. Parking is free on-site.
Why it matters
This is the first “Fall on the Farm” Kadas has been in charge of, and she said she is committed to keeping the spirit of what the previous owners—Lynne and Dave Johnson—started.
“Lynne Johnson really wanted a place where kids could go to feel safe, feel seen, feel loved and that is what the farm has always been built on, making sure that our guests feel loved, seen and have fun,” Kadas said.
Since Kadas started working for the farm over a decade ago, she has seen families make “Fall on the Farm” an annual tradition, and seeing them return over the years has been special.
“We get to be a part of those journeys and the families that have returned to us in these last two weeks have complimented the fresh look of the farm and the new activities and they are excited about what is to come,” Kadas said.

The fun at Blessington Farms is expanding beyond fall, Kadas said. A new Christmas at the Farm event will launch Black Friday weekend into the first two weekends in December.
