A Macy’s Fulfillment Center opened in Tomball on Sept. 20 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 19201 Hamish Road, Tomball, within the 240-acre Lovett Industrial business park.

How we got here

Tomball City Council approved Macy’s relocation of its fulfillment center from Downtown Houston to the nearly 1 million-square-foot facility in Tomball in early 2022, and the facility broke ground the same year.

The details

Stacy Bobbitt, Tomball Fulfillment Center director for Macy’s, said the new facility will focus on:
  • Store fulfillment
  • Big ticket direct-to-consumer delivery
  • Central returns
  • Toys
According to previous reporting, Macy's plans to employ over 100 workers at the new center.

What else?

Tomball Mayor Pro Tem Derek Townsend presented a proclamation declaring the day as "Macy's Day" in recognition of Macy's choosing Tomball for its fulfillment center.

Bobbitt, joined by Macy's Chief Operating Officer Adrian Mitchell and Sean Barbour, senior vice president of supply chain strategy and product flow, made a donation of $5,000 to Tomball ISD Superintendent Martha Salazar-Zamora in support of the Tomball Scholarship Foundation.

What they’re saying

Macy's was acknowledged for its investment in the local economy and community of Tomball by Bruce Hillegeist, president of the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce.

“No doubt will the Macy's and Tomball partnership be of mutual benefit, and we are in it for the long haul,” Hillegeist said. “We expect our friendship to be an example to other communities and businesses and work together for many years to come.”
