The Cottages at Buckshot Landing, 33455 Buckshot Lane, opened 129 new small home units on the border of The Woodlands and Magnolia in April. According to a news submission May 3, the individual homes offer two floor plans, including a 980-square-foot two-bedroom, two-bath cottage and a 1,272-square-foot three-bedroom, two-bath cottage.

Property Manager Michelle Cigler said the developer for the cottages, a Louisiana native, has been building single-family developments since 2002.

"He wanted to offer people a neighborhood that looks and feels like when you buy a home, but in a multifamily environment," she said in a phone interview. "You still have neighbors and a community, but you also have the flexibility to move in and out when you want and get the maintenance you need. So it's like a home, but taken care of like an apartment."

Jayme Hamilton, a representative of Buckshot Landing, said in the news submission that the property includes covered carports, a gated entrance, full-size washer and dryer hookups with an option to rent, a small backyard as well as a front porch, and stainless steel appliances. Amenities include valet trash pickup every Sunday through Thursday, a pool with outdoor fire pits, covered patios and grills. Additional amenities include a pond with a walking trail and private dog park.

"Our tagline is, 'All the comforts of home without the hassle of home ownership,'" Cigler said.

Units are available furnished or unfurnished with short term leases available. Rent ranges from $2,050-$2,500, Hamilton said. To schedule a viewing or learn more about the property, call 409-268-8243.

The Cottages are also planning to build a sister property in Magnolia. Cigler said plans are still in the preliminary stages of construction, which will include 76 duplexes or 146 units.
