The name of the 221-acre development less than 5 miles west of Hwy. 249 on FM 1488 has been named Emory Glen, according to a Feb. 14 press release. Empire Communities will begin selling homes in the development this summer, according to the release.

Emory Glen is planning 800 homes on 40- to 50-foot homesites, and prices are expected to start from the $200,000s, according to the release.

“We’re thrilled to see Magnolia continue to develop with the arrival of Emory Glen,” said Steve Sellers, president of Empire’s land division, in the release. “The community represents an incredible opportunity for homeowners to live a balanced life in an area poised for sustained growth.”

The community will offer walking trails, a playground, a pool, a pavilion and green space, Sellers said in the release.

Empire Communities previously announced the then-unnamed community in February 2021 coming near FM 1488 and Iron Ore Road, Community Impact Newspaper reported.

Emory Glen is Empire’s seventh new development in Texas with another project coming to the Austin area in 2023, according to the release. The company’s other Houston developments include Katy Trails in Katy; Sommerall Park in northwest Houston; Hidden Lakes and Coastal Point in League City; and Dellrose, a 600-acre master-planned community in Hockley.
