Society of Samaritans to host job fair Feb. 22 in Magnolia

The Society of Samaritans, a nonprofit organization that assists clients with basic living needs, will host a job fair this Friday, Feb. 22. More than 50 employers will be in attendance for this event, SOS President Shirley Jensen said, including Harris County Toll Road Authority, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Lone Star College, Woodforest National Bank and Chick-fil-A.

Attendees can participate in a practice interview session, have their resumes reviewed by the Montgomery County Society for Human Resources Management and attend other job readiness workshops. Jensen said there will also be a blood drive for Gulf Coast Regional Blood Bank and a food market provided by Montgomery County Food Bank.

Jensen said she had several tips for attendees: Dress professionally, research the employers before attending and bring more than one resume.

The event will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m at the Montgomery County Community Center, 31355 Friendship Drive, Magnolia.
