Monday, Feb. 26: FM 1488 overpass opening
Two lanes of the FM 1488 overpass at FM 149 will open today at 2 p.m., Montgomery County Precinct 2 Commissioner Charlie Riley said Monday morning. Weekend rain delayed the 9 a.m. opening, but the Texas Department of Transportation plans to finalize the segment this afternoon. Construction on this overpass began in December 2015 and is expected to be completed later this fall. The project provides drivers a direct route across FM 149 and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad tracks near Magnolia High School. The city of Magnolia and the Greater Magnolia Parkway Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony and dedication of the bridge, Bulter's Crossing, on Friday.
Monday, Feb. 26: Grab a slice of pizza
