During its Dec. 19 meeting, the Tomball City Council heard a presentation on the FM 2920 reconstruction project survey results stemming from a second public meeting held Dec. 6.

The FM 2920 reconstruction project spans from Business 249 to Willow Street, and the first public meeting on it was held in March.

The project is part of a larger Texas Department of Transportation project that spans from Hwy. 290 to I-45 and includes a median redesign, drainage, signal improvements and enhanced sidewalks, Community Impact previously reported.

Over 90 people attended the Dec. 6 public meeting, with 44 people submitting comment cards, according to the presentation. Of those 44 comment cards, a majority favored Alternative 2.

The comment cards received touched on concerns about property, one-way pairs and pedestrian safety, according to the city’s presentation on the survey results.

In terms of the online survey, 57 people responded, with 36% supporting Alternative 1, 26% supporting Alternative 2, 21% supporting keeping things the way they are now and 14% supporting Alternative 3, according to the city’s presentation.

The online survey results received touched on pedestrian safety, protected crosswalks, drainage, raised medians and one-way pairs, according to the city’s presentation.

Combining both the comment cards received and online surveys submitted, Alternative 2 received the most support with 39 people expressing their support for the plan.

No action was taken on picking an alternative to present to TxDOT.
