The Axeperience, an ax-throwing business, is planning to open a location in late August or early September at 11721 Spring Cypress Road, Ste. S, Tomball, co-owner Jackie Parker said via email.
Parker, who lives in Tomball, said she owns the business with her husband, Justin Viereck, and her brother, Aaron Parker.
“We want to open a brick-and-mortar location because we are a family-owned business,” Parker said. “We have huge goals of building a family legacy to leave our kids and help provide the best life we can for our whole family while also providing Tomball ...a fun, family-friendly environment to blow off steam, create memories, team build and just have a fun time.”
When the brick-and-mortar location opens, it will have at least 10 lanes, a video game area for kids, and a space for kids 10 and younger to throw with a kid-safe ax and target, Parker said.
“Half [of the lanes] will be traditional, and the other half will be projector targets that have a multitude of fun games to choose from,” Parker said. “We will have a bar in the back with beer, wine and seltzers. We will also have merchandise and local artists’ work displayed on the walls. We will have a back fenced-in area with tables and chairs and games.”
While the brick-and-mortar location is in the works, the mobile portion of The Axeperience is up and running, Parker said. The business also offers discounts for first responders, veterans, nonprofits and teachers.
“We offer a mobile ax trailer with two lanes,” Parker said. “This is perfect for graduation parties, birthdays, weddings, any special events.”
