What we reported Homer Allison opened The Wilderness Campground on Nov. 12 behind the Magnolia ISD Agriculture Barn. Housed on 8 acres of land, the primitive campground is donation-based and includes 12 campsites, a picnic area, gaga ball pit, an outdoor movie screen, outdoor dodgeball arena, tetherball, kickball and horseshoes.

The latest The Wilderness Campground welcomed 600 people and 44 families to its grand opening celebration in November.

What’s next Allison said he has plans to add a fishing pond, recreational vehicle sites and themed weekends in 2017 to offer a retreat for families and first responders.
