This year's annual Tomball Holiday Parade has been canceled due to concerns related to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic on what would have been the event's 55th anniversary, said Brandy Beyer, Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce vice president.
"We are super sad that we can't have the parade this year, but we have a responsibility to our community to make sure that everybody stays as safe as possible," Beyer said. "It's devastating to us, as staff, for our volunteers and our committee, because we spend months every year planning the parade and we know it's a big community tradition."
The parade was scheduled to take place Nov. 21. According to Beyer, the chamber is in the process of planning alternative activities to hold that weekend in support of local businesses. Beyer said updates will be posted on the chamber's social media sites.
