The Woodlands Township informed residents about local closures and delays to service for July 10 in a news release July 9, including information about how to handle debris and fallen trees. The township also updated residents on trash and recycling collections.

As of Tuesday, July 9 The Woodlands' Town Hall was closed, and The Woodlands Express and Town Center Trolleys were not operating, according to the news release.

As of 3:22 July 9, The Woodlands Transit announced on social media The Woodlands Express commuter bus would run service from the Sawdust Park and Ride to the Texas Medical Center on July 10 only to serve TMC essential workers. Run times will be: 5:45 a.m., 6:15 a.m., 7:15 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Full restoration of Park & Ride service will be announced when it is available, according to the post.

As of July 9, The Woodlands Township's Parks and Recreation Department crews were assessing park and swimming pool damage, and park bathrooms were closed.


Township swimming pools will not be open until damage assessments are complete, repairs are made and power is restored, according to a July 9 announcement.

The breakdown

Waste Management collections are delayed by one day for this week, according to a news release from The Woodlands Township. Officials said collections are likely to be heavier than usual, but households that have missed a pickup should still leave their containers curbside.

Collections will take place one day after the usual collection day, and missed pickups will be serviced as soon as possible, according to the release.


The Woodlands Recycling Center will be open from 4-7 p.m. July 10 at 5402 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands. Household waste is not accepted at this location.

Some roads are still obstructed by fallen trees, according to the July 9 news release. Residents should call 911 for emergency assistance related to trees that have fallen on homes or vehicles, according to township officials. Fallen trees that are blocking roadways should be reported to Montgomery or Harris counties at the following numbers, depending on where it is located:

In addition to shelters and cooling centers set up by Montgomery and Harris counties, a cooling center in The Woodlands has been set up at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 26777 Glen Loch Drive, The Woodlands. Residents should use the south entrance.

The Harris County Community Center location closest to The Woodlands with charging facilities and Wi-Fi is 709 Riley Fuzzel Road, Spring, according to information from the township.
