Completion dates for two road construction projects on Hwy. 242 in are slated for the third quarter of 2022, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

1. A TxDOT project will construct a grade separation along Hwy. 242 from west to east of FM 1314. This is one of four projects to construct an overpass at Hwy. 242 and FM 1314. The project was 90% complete as of Aug. 1.

Timeline: July 2018-first quarter 2023

2. The portion of the Hwy. 242 grade separation and widening project from west of FM 1314 to east of Needham Road was 95% complete as of the Aug. 1 TxDOT report. The original end date was given by TxDOT as the first quarter of this year.

3. Construction of a raised median is planned on FM 1488 from I-45 to Mostyn Drive. Construction could begin as early as August.
