Repairs are scheduled to begin on a water line Aug. 18 after a slow leak was detected in the San Jacinto River Authority’s 30-inch surface water transmission line located along Research Forest Drive near New Trails Drive in The Woodlands.
According to a news release from Montgomery County Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack's office, all eastbound lanes on Research Forest between Technology Forest Drive and New Trails will be closed during the repairs, which could take up to several weeks
The news release states the transmission line serves The Woodlands, Rayford Road MUD, Southern Montgomery County MUD, Oak Ridge North and MUD 99 with treated surface water from Lake Conroe, and it was taken offline Aug. 16, though it was noted that no service interruption for homes or businesses is expected.
The eastbound lanes will be closed beginning 9 a.m. Aug. 18. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes and avoid the area as much as possible.
