A Strong CPA expands through acquisition, enhances resources for clients in The Woodlands

A Strong CPA expands through acquisition, enhances resources for clients in The Woodlands

Sponsored by: A Strong CPA

A Strong CPA, a trusted accounting firm based in The Woodlands, is starting the new year with major changes, including a strategic acquisition and a move to a larger office space.

The firm recently acquired the local accounting practice Ikard & Kennedy, doubling its size and reinforcing its commitment to offering high-quality, locally driven services.

Founded in 2008 by Angela Strong, the firm has seen steady growth over its 17 year history. Jennifer Wertz, who joined the firm in 2013 and became an equity partner last year, has helped drive the firm’s success with a shared vision for local leadership and exceptional service.

“We specialize in a broad range of services,” Strong said. “We’re a full-service accounting firm, so we do audits, reviews, compilations [and] compliance as well tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and estates. What sets us apart is that we are locally owned and operated. We don't have any outside investors. We both live here in The Woodlands with our families.”

The addition of Ikard & Kennedy clients and team aligns with A Strong CPA’s community-centered approach. Strong emphasized the firm’s commitment to providing seamless service during the transition.

“We want the clients to experience uninterrupted service,” she said. “The only noticeable difference should be the name on the email or invoice, as the same professionals will continue to serve them under our umbrella.”

The acquisition also provides enhanced resources for the firm. By pooling expertise and scaling operations, A Strong CPA is leveraging new technologies that streamline processes like tax document preparation. Strong highlighted that this innovation enables the firm to maintain efficiency while keeping costs manageable.

Another benefit of this acquisition is that it will provide more opportunities for staff members to give back to the community.

“We're big believers in living and working and giving back to the community, and not just in philanthropic ways, but also providing opportunities for people to have a place to work and use their gifts and talents to better the community around them,” Strong said.

Strong plans to organize firm-wide volunteer initiatives to deepen their community involvement. She said with a larger team, the firm will have more flexibility to take on projects.

Beyond client and community impact, A Strong CPA prioritizes its team members' growth and satisfaction. The firm fosters a collaborative environment where employees feel valued and supported.

“We’re committed to creating a space where people can work together, solve problems and feel a sense of purpose at the end of the day,” Strong said.

As A Strong CPA embarks on this new chapter, its mission remains clear: delivering responsive, technically proficient and locally focused accounting services. With its expanded team and resources, the firm is well-positioned to serve clients and the community for years to come.
