A portion of Rayford Road between Fox Run Boulevard and Grand Parkway will be closed overnight Dec. 6 beginning around 9 p.m., according to Montgomery County Precinct 3. Rayford will reopen early Dec. 7, weather permitting, Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack said in a social media post.

Noack said Fox Ravine Drive, Hidden Spring Falls and Legends Reach Drive would be inaccessible during the overnight closure, while through traffic in the area will be rerouted along Fox Run and Grand Parkway's frontage roads.

The approximately half-mile stretch of Rayford will be closed to allow for the installation of a drainage pipe across the road, Noack said. The closure comes days after Precinct 3 closed Brookchase Drive at Rayford as part of its ongoing improvements to the corridor. Noack said that intersection is expected to reopen early next week.

Precinct 3 officials previously said that ongoing construction along Rayford, which includes widening portions of the road from four to six lanes, the construction of a bridge at the Union Pacific Corp. railroad tracks and other road improvements, is expected to be completed by the end of 2019. For more information on the closure, residents can contact Precinct 3 at 281-367-3977.
