Montgomery County Precinct 3 officials announced Jan. 11 that a temporary lane closure is set for Rayford Road starting Jan. 20 so beams can be set for the Union Pacific Corp. Railroad bridge.

The outside lane heading westbound on Rayford Road will be closed from Rayford Bend to Richards Road from 8 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, until 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25.

The closure is due to the $60 million road bond project that includes constructing a six-lane bridge over the Union Pacific Corp. railroad tracks as well as widening Rayford Road from four to six lanes between Lazy Lane and the Grand Parkway. Precinct 3 officials said the project is expected to be completed in mid-2019.

Residents who have questions about the project and road closures should contact the Rayford Road Safety and Mobility project line at 281-624-6326 or email at [email protected].
