The city of Shenandoah announced via Facebook Oct. 3 that a gas line was damaged in the afternoon on a cul de sac in the neighborhood of Dulcimer Woods and several homes were evacuated as a precaution.

According to the post, the gas line was hit by Tachus LLC, the company installing fiber internet across the city as part of the citywide fiber internet project. The Woodlands Fire Department and CenterPoint crews have responded to the incident, however the damage is located under a driveway which will extend the time frame for repair, according to the statement.

Although the area has not been barricaded as of 4 p.m., residents should expect emergency vehicles in the area.
