Interfaith CEO Missy Herndon said the car wash, hosted by Interfaith Young Professionals, will be held at Aqua Auto Wash Detail and Lube Center at 4102 College Park Drive, The Woodlands.
Herndon said those taking part in the event can bring in a variety of school supplies, food and monetary donations to help out.
"Over the past couple of years, IYP has been very invested in our Kits4Kidz school assistance program with supply drives," Herndon said. "They've been instrumental over the past couple of summers with helping us collect school supplies for the kids in need in our area."
Due to the coronavirus, Herndon said things will be done differently this year.
"Normally, many of those school supply drives are done through different retailers," Herndon said. "Because there are so many challenges on the retail side, we wanted to make sure we made it as easy as possible for all of our supporters. [IYP] chose to do it like a drive-thru and drop off at the car wash."
Herndon said the school supply drives help around 2,000 students each year on average, and IYP is aiming to help around the same number this year.
