Midterm elections are held in the middle of the sitting president’s term and include races for several federal, state and local representatives, including governor, Congress and the state Legislature. However, this year’s election also includes local races for county judges and commissioners. To help voters make sense of this year’s ballot, the editorial staff at Community Impact Newspaper has compiled our Primary Election Guide. In the following days leading up to the start of early voting, we'll be working to bring you information on polling locations in The Woodlands for early voting and election day, voter ID requirements and Q&A interviews with candidates in contested party races. Readers may wonder why candidates for both parties are not listed in every race. While a number of races are contested, a number of candidates vying for party nominations are running unopposed and therefore are not included in this guide. Stay tuned for our November election guide later this year, and be sure to follow along at communityimpact.com/vote for more on this year’s races and live election night coverage.
