
The community will play host to the annual Woodlands Marathon at 7 a.m. on Saturday.
The full marathon route begins on Lake Robbins Drive near the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and winds down Grogans Mill Road to Sawdust Road and west through the villages of Panther Creek, Sterling Ridge and Alden Bridge. The finish line will be back in Town Center near the starting line.
The half marathon route will take runners from Lake Robbins Drive near the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, down Lake Woodlands Drive to Kuykendahl Road, up Research Forest Drive to Grogans Mill Road and back to Lake Robbins Drive to the finish line.
Drivers should plan to allow an additional 45 minutes to an hour when traveling into racecourse territory during the marathon.
Other travel times outside the course should account for 10-15 extra minutes due to displaced traffic and an additional five minutes at intersections.

Northbound:
- 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Kuykendahl Road
- 7-11:30 a.m.: Woodloch Forest Drive
- 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: FM 2978
- 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: I-45
Southbound:
- 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Branch Crossing Drive
- 7-11:30 a.m.: Woodloch Forest Drive
- 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: FM 2978
- 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: I-45
Westbound:
- 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Research Forest Drive
- 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Lake Woodlands Drive (These lanes will have contraflow so vehicles coming from Lake Front Circle can travel east and west)
Eastbound:
- 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Hwy. 242
- 7 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Woodlands Parkway
