Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center, located at 9250 Pinecroft Drive, Shenandoah, is undergoing an expansion in the emergency department to provide overflow waiting space for surges in coronavirus cases, according to Vice President of Operations Jason Glover.

The extra space will be created by enclosing a portion of the ambulance bay. Glover said the expansion will allow for more storage during the hospital’s expansion project.

According to Glover, the project is underway and it should be complete within a few months.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Registration lists the project as “COVID Social Distance Overflow Waiting Room” with an estimated cost of $200,000 for the 2,400-square-foot expansion. www.memorialhermann.org
