The kitchen's first location at 3126 Sawdust Road, The Woodlands, launched in March 2017 and offers a slate of tacos, burritos and tortas as well as a selection of meat- and seafood-based specialty dishes. The new restaurant is set to open next month at 26817 N. I-45, Spring, the former home of The Hub Cafe & Bistro.
“The time is right. We wanted to take advantage of this opportunity, even during a crazy year like 2020," owner Roberto Rubio said in a statement.
In addition to its original food selection, La Cocina de Roberto's second location will also serve beer and margaritas along with a bar menu featuring happy hour specials. The new restaurant space includes a dining area and a pickup window for carryout orders.
La Cocina de Roberto also offers catering services, and Rubio said the original Sawdust Road kitchen will likely focus more on that side of the business following the launch on I-45, although both locations will remain open to individual customers for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 832-299-6706. www.lacocinaderoberto.net
