The medical center first opened as The Woodlands Community Hospital with 42 beds and less than 200 employees, according to the release. The medical center’s 1,400-plus affiliated physicians across nearly 90 disciplines offer services from routine outpatient visits to complex, acute inpatient procedures. The hospital now has 457 beds and is the largest health care employer in Montgomery County with more than 3,300 employees, according to the release. The hospital is also a Level II Trauma Center serving as a Life Flight base for the north Houston area.
