The $250 million expansion at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital is proceeding on schedule, and 2021 will see most of the project completed, according to hospital officials.
Trent Fulin, vice president and chief operating officer, said over the course of 2020 the structure of the new 150-patient tower has taken shape.
Trent Fulin, vice president and chief operating officer, said over the course of 2020 the structure of the new 150-patient tower has taken shape.
"We have poured the foundation and constructed the columns, beams and elevated slabs of the new patient tower, which we topped out this fall," Fulin said in an email statement. "We are now building out interior spaces and completing construction of the exterior walls."
Fulin said the project included excavating a pond on the southeast corner of the campus and adding a 300-space parking surface. In late 2020, construction of a 800-space parking garage connecting to the tower was beginning, and it was expected to be complete in fall 2021. The tower will be open for patients in early 2022, he said.
