In a Feb. 5 news release, The Woodlands Pride announced Alex Morrison is the new president of the nonprofit organization.

The details

Morrison takes over the title from Jason Rocha, who founded The Woodlands Pride in 2018. According to the release, Morrison intends to focus on three main goals, including:
  • Increasing community engagement
  • Building partnerships with outside organizations and businesses
  • Supporting LGBTQ+ youth
Previously, Morrison served as vice president for The Woodlands Pride and president of the Halliburton Pride employee resource group.

In their words

“I am honored to take on this role and work alongside such a dedicated team,” Morrison said. “Together, we will continue to advocate for the LGBTQ+ community in The Woodlands and the surrounding area, ensuring that everyone feels seen, supported, and celebrated.”

“The vision and leadership Alex brings will be pivotal in driving our mission forward,” Rocha said. “We are excited to see how her innovative ideas will inspire positive change within our community. TWP is looking forward to our many events this year and our seventh Annual Pride Festival on Oct. 25."
