Oak Ridge North City Council members approved moving forward on a contract for design services on a new city hall on Aug. 26 as the Robinson Road realignment project moves forward.

What’s happening?

City Council members approved a $200,000 contract with Identity Architects to create designs for a new city hall building upon completion of the Robinson Road realignment project.

The proposed city hall, which will be located along Hanna Road, will be around 10,000 square feet and two stories tall. In proposed design plans, the city is looking to have several dedicated meeting spaces including:
  • Main council chambers
  • Multi-use meeting hall
  • Two conference rooms
  • 12 office spaces
The design contract will provide construction estimates and final design plans for the space, and be brought before council once the design phase is complete.

The city hall relocation is currently scheduled to begin once the Robinson Road realignment project nears completion, which is currently set for mid-2025.
