The Woodlands Township approves $1 million in town hall renovations

The Woodlands Township board of directors approved a number of improvements to the township’s main office building on Aug. 23, following a recognition of the final cost for Fire Station No. 5.

What happened

Board members approved $1.04 million for improvements to the main town hall building for the township, which will refurbish multiple rooms for Information Technology and Visit The Woodlands staff.

William Pham, director of Information Technology for the township, told board members the construction would begin in late September and be completed by January.

Township President and CEO Monique Sharp also told board members future improvements for the main conference rooms and board meeting room would be proposed once the first round of renovations are complete.

The township also approved the final contract with Brookstone Construction for the new Fire Station No. 5. The contract ensured a guaranteed maximum price for the construction of $12.1 million, and The Woodlands Fire Chief Palmer Buck told the board construction would likely begin by mid-September.
