The Woodlands area offers a number of camps for children of all ages this summer. Options range from overnight camps to academic camps to special interest camps in specific fields, offering something for every child.

Discovery College at LSC-Montgomery provides a fun college experience, giving students and their families an introduction to their local LSCS campus. Camps run weekly Monday through Thursday. Discovery College programs are STEM-focused and are specifically designed to engage children in key areas, such as science, technology, engineering and math, to promote a learning experience.

Camps at In-Step Dance Company will include a variety of themed camps for dancers, acrobats, or cheerleaders. Camp themes include: A Fairy Ballet Princess Wonderland, Princess Party, Fairy Ballet Princess Wonderland and Princess Party. Lazy Acres is a Christian-based, summer day camp. Day camp activities include daily swim time, nature walks, Frisbee golf, train rides and baking activities. Early registration begins April 1 and is $50 per family.

Children who enroll in Jabberwocky Art Camp of The Woodlands have the opportunity to complete painting projects, creative crafts and other outside-the-box activities. There are four creative classes each day. Projects will include painting with different types of paints, 3-D construction, artful collage, learning drawing techniques using oil and chalk pastels, and doing unusual crafts.

Wonder-Space Tech Camp offers a variety of courses. Campers can choose from game design, media and graphics, and engineering and programming courses. Lego robotics, Minecraft 3-D game design and Java programming are some of the projects campers will take on.

The Woodlands Children’s Museum offers summer workshops where the curriculum is age appropriate, developmentally sound and fosters creative thinking. Workshops offered for younger children include art, cultural discovery, construction and science concepts. Older children can select from pre-engineering concepts, strategy and mechanical principles with team-building collaboration.

Located in Navasota, Camp Allen’s summer camp is one of the largest summer camp programs in the Episcopal Church. Each summer, over 1,900 campers from across Texas come to refocus and relax. Scholarships for the camp are also available. Camp activities include archery, horseback riding, canoeing, swimming, and arts and crafts.

Carolina Creek Christian Camps provides a variety of sports and activities in an exciting environment for kids in sixth through 12th grades. Campers experience high-energy activities, meaningful worship, small group discipleship and opportunities to hang out with college-age creek staff. For kids who have completed K-fifth grades, they can also participate in the Wild Camp, which is a camp with animal-themed cabins, a water park and a climbing jungle.

Frontier Camp is a Christian non-denominational co-ed summer camp offering weeklong camp sessions for children and teens. Located about two hours north of Houston, the camp offers eight camp weeks beginning the first week of June. The camp features recreational fun, such as wakeboarding, archery, a ropes course and horseback riding.

High-energy camp experiences at Legends Sports Complex focus on team building, leadership skills, sports, fitness and fun. The sports complex will have a summer camp open house April 17 from 1-4 p.m.
