Since opening in March on FM 2978 in Magnolia, Gardenmania’s product line, which consists of a large variety of plants, trees, mixed soils and fertilizers, continues to attract more customers to the new nursery.

Co-owner Oscar Munoz said he and business partner Carlo Merlo have seen growing momentum in customer interest since opening the nursery. Munoz said the businesses growth is due to the number of different plants it has specifically for the Texas environment, as well as the high quality of the plants.

“We simply love plants, and we focus on the quality of what we have,” Munoz said. “At the beginning [of the facility’s opening], with the rain, things were slow. But now business has been picking up with the beautiful days. This is just a place people can enjoy walking through and buying something at the same time.”

Gardenmania is the only nursery that Munoz and Merlo own, but Munoz said the two could potentially open another location in the future that will feature more products.

“Right now, instead of having a big property, we have a 3-acre property to focus more on our plants,” he said. “However we are thinking about growing [the business] in the future.”
