The event also includes the awarding of Best of Show accolades as judged by TWAC staff and board members.
A featured artist is chosen for the festival each year who donates original artwork that can be seen in festival posters, T-shirts and other items. The art is auctioned for the annual Art Dash Party on Friday night to raise money for local scholarships.
The 2024 featured artist is painter Regina Lyubovnaya, who is based in Los Angeles, according to the news release. The artwork Lyubovnaya donated is titled "Water Break," which shows a young girl with a horse in a waterway.
“I feel lucky every day to be painting, learning and discovering new things," she said in the release.
What they're saying
“We were inspired to feature an artist new to our festival, and Regina’s work resonated with so many people we spoke to. 'Water Break' has encouraged us all to contemplate what can be discovered when we stop and take the time to look around,” TWAC Executive Director Jenny Carattini-Wright said in the release.
