Jan. 24: Have a snow dayThe Woodlands Children’s Museum The Woodlands Children's Museum will host a snow day boogie bash with a variety of snow-themed activities. Children will be able to build imaginary snowmen, “skate” with paper plates and even help create a snow storm with cotton balls and a parachute. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. $8. Jan. 26: Get a taste of The Woodlands
Participants can enjoy a sampling of appetizers, entrees and desserts at the annual Taste of the Town event sponsored by The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce. Around 40 local restaurants will participate in the event for attendees to try, and each ticket comes with two alcoholic beverage tickets. 5-9 p.m. $45 (prepaid), $50 (at the door). Feb. 11: Attend a gala
Montgomery County Food Bank is hosting its annual "Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope" gala. This year’s event will be space-themed, and proceeds benefit the food bank. The event will also recognize community partners and volunteers. 6-11 p.m. $200. Jan 21: Chill out with some chili
Participants can enjoy tasting a variety of chili at the annual chili contest in Creekside Park. The public will have the opportunity to vote on the best recipe as well as the best tent design. Jan. 27: Attend a superhero-themed prom
Mothers and sons can save the date at The Woodlands’ second annual mother-son prom night. Participants are encouraged to dress up in superhero attire while dancing to music and enjoying refreshments. Grandmothers, aunts and even big sisters are welcome as well. 6:30-8:30 p.m. $60 (per pair), $15 (additional per sibling). Jan. 28: Celebrate Arbor Day by bringing home a tree
Residents can join the 47th annual tree giveaway in celebration of Arbor Day. Twelve different varieties of native tree seedlings will be available to choose from. Feb. 3-12: Watch a local production

Feb. 5: Celebrate 40 years of volunteering
Community members can join the Cypress-Woodlands Junior Forum in celebrating 40 years of volunteer services and philanthropy in a celebration. Feb. 11: Help reforest the community

Feb. 14: Swoon in the swan lake boats

Feb. 18: Race to the crawfish line
Families can enjoy the annual Muddy Trail Bash 5k run and crawfish cook-off. The run will go through the George Mitchell Nature Preserve, and the crawfish cookoff will be held immediately following the race.
