The Woodlands United Methodist Church hosted its 33rd annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration Jan. 17.
The event was organized by the Martin Luther King Jr. Foundation Committee and had performances from various groups including the MLK Youth Mass Choir, Resound Special Needs Ministry Choir and MLK Adult Mass Choir.
The event also honored 10 area students who received scholarships in 2021 with a virtual check-in with the students.
Jesse Tyson, master of ceremonies for the event, said the event has missed three years since its inception in 1986, with 2021 being one of the years due to the coronavirus pandemic.
