Holiday waste collection is now available in The Woodlands and includes recycling services for not only holiday paper and gift boxes, but also green and flocked Christmas trees. Recycling and solid waster services will not be affected by the winter holidays, and waste management will continue to provide curbside pickup of trash, recycling and yard trimmings to all residents on their regular service day. According to The Woodlands Township, unlimited recyclables are accepted at the curbside, and holiday paper and gift boxes should be placed in a paper bag or small box next to the recycle bin. When recycling green Christmas trees, residents should remove all decorations and lights from the tree, including tree stands, and place the tree at the curb on the regular service day. To dispose of a flocked Christmas tree, residents should schedule a pickup by calling 1-800-800-5804 at least two days before the regular service day. Extra household waste requires a $1.75 pink tag, which can be purchased from The Woodlands Township offices, The Woodlands Township Recreation Center, Kroger and Randalls at Grogans Mill and Panther Creek. The Woodlands Recycling Center on Research Forest Drive will be open every Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., regardless of the holidays.
