Unofficial early voting results in the election for The Woodlands Township board of directors, Position 6, show Adam Lamb has taken an early lead among Montgomery County absentee and early voters, with 2,812 votes cast, or 48.11% of the votes cast.
Among the other candidates, Maria Holmes received 1,941 votes, or 33.21% of votes cast, Allan Bounds received 742 votes, or 12.69%, and Philip Ikharebhore received 350 votes, or 5.99% of votes cast.
The Woodlands Township also consists of an area within Harris County, Creekside Park, where results have not yet been released.
The Woodlands Township does not hold runoff elections in cases where a candidate receives less than 50% of the vote.
All results are unofficial until canvassed.
The background
Position 6 is the only contested race in the Nov. 4 election.
Positions 5 and 7, which also have terms ending this year, are currently occupied by incumbents Shelley Sekula-Gibbs and Cindy Heiser, respectively, who are seeking reelection. Ann Snyder did not seek reelection to Position 6.
