A total of seven candidates have filed to run for four available seats on The Woodlands Township board of directors as of the Aug. 19 filing deadline, according to information posted on the township website Aug. 20.
The four positions are at-large two-year seats for positions 1, 2, 3 and 4.
The posts are currently occupied by incumbents Brad Bailey, Linda Nelson and Richard Franks, who are seeking re-election, and Kyle Watson, who is not seeking re-election.

Write-in candidacy can be submitted through 5 p.m. Aug. 23 for local noncounty political subdivisions, according to the website for the Texas secretary of state.
In addition to the candidates listed, the township listed one rejected application for Position 2 from Gary Paul Dickerson, but the reason for rejection was not provided.
Early voting begins Oct. 21, and Election Day is Nov. 5.
