Two traffic lights will be installed within Tomball ISD’s boundaries after the district’s board of trustees approved the $578,050 projects on Sept. 10.

The cost

Funded by the district’s $494.46 million bond—approved by voters in November 2021—the lights will be installed along FM 2920 and Mueschke Road, according to Sept. 10 meeting documents.

According to meeting documents, the project details include:
  • $169,250 spent to install the FM 2920 light, which will be located near the Tomball Innovation Center, by Nov. 30
  • $358,800 slated for completing the Mueschke Road light by March 3
  • $10,000 per month to rent traffic signal equipment, if needed
The traffic light on Mueschke Road will cost more because the Texas Department of Transportation approved “permanent poles” for the project but only temporary poles for the FM 2920 light, Chief Financial Officer Zack Boles said.

One more thing

On Sept. 10, trustees approved the firm Traffic Signals Construction Inc. to complete the traffic light installations.
