The new Cajun-American concept from owner Jeff McGhee opened in late August at 4130 FM 1488, Ste. 102, Conroe. Its New Orleans-inspired menu includes po'boys, seafood plates and boudin-based dishes as well as bread pudding and beignets. 936-539-8597.

Now open: Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar

The seventh Texas location of Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar opened in Oak Ridge North on Sept. 8. Brunch, lunch and dinner dishes along with several house cocktails and beer and whiskey flights are available on the restaurant's farm-to-kitchen menu. 346-209-5577.

Now open: The Republic Grille

The Republic Grille opened its third restaurant in The Woodlands area in mid-September at 3486 Discovery Creek Blvd., Spring. The Southern-style Texas eatery is now serving appetizers, salads, pastas and sandwiches in addition to signature dishes, such as chicken fried steak and shrimp and grits. The Republic Grill also operates locations in Panther Creek in The Woodlands and on FM 2978 just south of Woodlands Parkway. 281-719-2001.

Now open: Dosey Doe Breakfast & BBQ Whiskey Bar

The breakfast and barbecue joint launched its expanded whiskey bar at 2626 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands in early September. A global assortment of whiskeys and cocktail options, as well as a new appetizers, are now available alongside DDBBBQ's original assortment of smoked meats and omelets, eggs Benedict, pancakes and sandwiches. 832-823-4414.

Now open: Curry Masala

The Indian and Pakistani restaurant opened its second location in Spring in mid-September east of I-45. Located at 610 Rayford Road, Spring, Curry Masala's menu includes kebabs, wraps, currys, breads, burgers and biryanis as well as beverages, such as coffees, teas, smoothies, juices and several cocktails. 281-362-5997.

Now open: Fajita Pete's

Fajita Pete's newest Tex-Mex eatery opened Sept. 27 at 24345 Gosling Road, Ste. 225, Spring, at the Shops on Gosling. Fajitas, tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas, burritos and several side and dessert options round out the restaurant's menu, which also features aguas frescas, beer and margaritas. 832-639-8334.

Now open: Chicken Salad Chick

The Southern-style eatery opened its newest location at 4131 Riley Fuzzel Road, Spring, on Sept. 2. Salads, soups and sandwiches round out the franchise restaurant's menu in addition to its signature chicken salads and pimento cheese. 346-326-2977.

Coming soon: Island Fin Poke Co. and Center Court Pizza & Brew

The Shops on Gosling will welcome two additional eateries in northern Spring this year. The Hawaiian-style Island Fin Poke Co., set to launch in November, and the second Spring location of Center Court Pizza & Brew, which is working toward an October launch, will join Fajita Pete's at the 33,000-square-foot development. and
