Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, located in Waterway Square, offers patrons an assortment of pizzas, calzones, salads and desserts.
“The unique thing about our pizzas is that they are cooked in a coal brick oven,” said Rony Hozaifeh, The Woodlands Grimaldi’s location manager. “We don’t use any gas or heating elements to cook with, so that gives it the smoky flavor.”
One of the most popular pizzas, based on sales at The Woodlands location, is The Brooklyn Bridge ($18-$25), Hozaifeh said. The crust is topped with a San Marzano tomato-based sauce, ricotta cheese, oven-roasted red peppers and Italian sausage. The pizza is cooked in the oven at a high heat to make the crust crispy.
The Brooklyn Bridge pairs well with Peroni beer and a Sangiovese wine, Hozaifeh said. The pizzeria offers an extensive beer and wine list as well as red and white wine sangria.
