The Howard Hughes Corporation announced it has officially acquired the Grogan’s Mill Village Center in a deal aiming to revitalize the center in the future.

“Howard Hughes has acquired the in-line retail and grocery anchor component of the Grogan’s Mill Village Center,” said Jim Carman, president of the Houston Region for The Howard Hughes Corp. “This acquisition represents the first step of a long-term revitalization process that will require extensive collaboration, planning and design.”

Carman confirmed the weekly The Woodlands Farmers Market would continue without interruption as plans begin for the center.

In a newsletter sent to residents of the village, the Grogan’s Mill Village Association stated it will follow any new development plans with interest.

“We are interested in knowing their development plans, timing and what can be done to assist our existing merchants in the center,” the GMVA newsletter states. “In our prior meetings with Howard Hughes, we have been impressed by their desire to maintain the quality standards we are accustomed to living with in The Woodlands.”
