According to a press release from Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Pavlion and company Genalyte, the testing site will be available from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. until Sept. 11.
"With COVID-19 cases continuing to rise in the Houston area, it’s imperative to help meet the demand and crucial need for high-quality, extensive antibody testing in the community,” Genalyte CEO Cary Gunn said in the press release. "Antibody testing is beneficial to help determine whether individuals have developed antibodies to SARS-CoV-2; it also helps the community understand overall prevalence of the antibodies, and thus, the virus in the population."
The press release states Genalyte's test can detect the type of antibodies present in a person’s blood. Based on the type of antibodies present, the test may indicate the presence of an active or past infection.
Testing will be held by reservation only in The Pavilion Lounge, located inside the Event Center. Visitors can park in the Gold Lot next to the venue and parking garage, which is accessible from Six Pines drive.
